Welsh Premier League
Farrar Road, Bangor

Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Bangor, so the song goes. It was okay, I guess, being my first cut of League of Wales action at Farrar Road. Rain attempting a thorough limbo, coming in sideways and beating the Bangor players into hasty retreat from their warm-up. One man stays out running into the gales. Clayton Blackmore, once of Manchester United and Wales, heavy in the arse, blonde highlights in the wig, but still in enough possession of a demon right foot to tighten keeper's sphincters through the principality. 2-0 it ended, looked a solid 0-0 thanks to conditions and woodwork/athletic keeping but goals in 81st and 83rd sealed it for the home side. Over 600 in what is a pretty ramshackle old ground, but not a great advert for the LoW in truth. That said, in these conditions, good football would be hard to come by whatever the level or country.
